Meizhou Island is a famous island where Mazu (Goddess of the Sea) were born. Meizhou Island is situated in the northern half of the mouth of Meizhou Bay, about 3.3 kilometers from the mainland and 133 km away from Taichung Port of Taiwan. This island is the birthplace of Mazu culture, which later spread troughout the world. Meizhou Island can be accessed by 20 minutes sea travel via ferryboat from the mainland. Temple of Mazu is an attractive sites that also be a pilgrim destination, especially for Taiwanese, who majority Mazu worshipper.

Located at the foot of Phoenix Mountain, Guanghua Temple was built in 558 AD, and one of famous Buddhist temples in Fujian Province. The temple was originally entitled as Golden Immortal (Jinxian) Temple, in 976 Emperor Taizhong of Song Dynasty changed its name into Guanghua Temple which remain until today.

Nine Carp Lake or Jiuli Lake is located at the peak of Wan Mountain, eastern part of Xianyou County. This scenic area known for its lakes, stone inscriptions, pools and the most popular sight is Jiuji Waterfalls.

The Southern Shaolin Temple of Putian situated in Lin Shan Village, Jiulian Mountain, Xitianwei town, it's about 16 kilometers to the northwest of Putian City. The Southern Shaolin Temple was built in the first year of Yongding of Chen in the Southern Dynasties (557 AD), only 61 years late than Songshan Shaolin Temple.

The Sanqing Palace of Putian is the best-preserved Taoist architecture of Tang Dynasty in Fujian province. Sanqing Palace consider as a cultural relic under state protection, this building was established in 628 AD during the reign of Tang Dynasty.

Tianzhong Wanshou Pagoda is situated in Fengting Town, about 27 kilometers from Xianyou County. The pagoda has square shape, consisting of five tiers, was built with solid stones and is 7.4-meter tall with a side length of 5.1 meters.

Located at the foot of Mulan Mountain, southern part of Putian City, Mulan Dam is a well preserved ancient water project. Built in 1075 during The Song Dynasty (960-1127), Mulan Dam is one of largest irrigation system in ancient China.
