Pingtan

Pingtan County is a county comprised of several islands in the Taiwan Strait, under the municipality of Fuzhou City. The main island is Haitan. Pingtan County is the nearest island to Taiwan from the Chinese mainland. Pingtan is located 120 kilometers from Fuzhou, the capital city of Fujian province; and 126 kilometers from Hsinchu, Taiwan. Pingtan Island is the fifth largest island in China, and the largest island in Fujian province.

Haitan Island

Located in Pingtan County, Fujian Province, Pingtan Haitan National Scenic Zone is the closest resort to Taiwan Island, and is a natural scenic zone featured by sandy beaches and marine abrasion landform constituted by granite rocks. The scenic zone covers a total area of 71 square kilometers, including a total land area of 49 square kilometers, and boasts the best sandy beaches and the best marine abrasion landform in China.

The three great ocean strand sandy beaches which are Changjiangao, Haitan Gulf and Tannan Gulf are in the north, east and south of the Pingtan Island, the sand quality is thin and white, the sea water is clean and blue, meet the provision requests of the seashore tour sandy beach, and the area is big, linking mutually, there are the shelter forest behind of them, there are the group of islands cay in the sea, the combination condition is good.
