Minqing
Minqing County is a county of Fujian Province, China. It is under the administration of Fuzhou city. There are Minqing 18 Commodities Fair held in Bandong Town of Minqing County. Minqing "Shibaban" Commodities Fair is the grandest and most famous occasion of rural commodities fair and travel culture show that creates a happy, auspicious and prosperous festival atmosphere for local people and investors from Fujian Province home and abroad. It is a traditional folk fair with a history of over 180 years.
In the year Daoguang Emperor of Qing Dynasty ascended the throne, gentleman farmers of Mei County held the first folk culture festival in Bandong Town, attracting farmers from neighboring 18 townships, hence the name "Minqing 18 Townships Commodities Fair", or " Minqing `shibaban`(18 townships)" for short. Minqing "Shibaban" Commodities Fair & Ancient Civil Residence Cultural Tourism Festival is regularly held in Bandong Town of Minqing County.
The festival is a grand cultural occasion integrating sightseeing, business negotiations, trade contacts, cultural exchanges and academic symposia. The Minqing Commodities Fair has become the largest-scale rural commodities fair and tourism promotion of Fujian Province.
