Fuqing City
Fuqing (福清) is a coastal city in the eastern part of Fujian Province and bordering the East China Sea. This county level city situated in southeast of Fuzhou, the province's capital city, and 45 kilometers from Changle International Airport of Fuzhou. Fuqing city has some geographical benefits, for its location between Fuzhou and Xiamen, the two largest cities in Fujian Province.
Surrounded by mountain, fertile land, and rich resources sea, are the major advantage of Fuqing for being the strong agriculture and export oriented economic zone. With coastline about 348 km and island shoreline 84.24 km, Fuqing counts as one of the centers of a booming industry that over two decades has transformed China into the biggest producer and exporter of seafood in the world, and the fastest-growing supplier to the world.
Fuqing also known as Hokchia (Chinese: 福清; pinyin: F�qīng; Wade-Giles: Fu-ch'ing; Foochow Romanized: H�k-chiăng), has total population about 1.2 million, which has own dialect, which is closely related with the one spoken in Fuzhou. Fuqing dialect is often used in daily conversation amongst local, and Fuqing people nowadays more proud using their own dialects.
Fuqing City also famous as an ancestral homeland of Overseas Chinese or "Huaqiao". North America, Europe, South East Asia, Oceania and Japan are the most common destination for Overseas Chinese of Fuqing origin.
Fuqing is quite easy to access, as its location adjacent to Fuzhou Changle International Airport. It is just 45 kilometers (28 miles) from the airport, which is approximately 70 minutes drive times.

Fuqing Destination Spots
Shizu Mountain
Situated about ten kilometres from Fuqing, Shizu Mountain is a sacred mountain for Taoist. There are two alternatives for traveler if they want to go to the peak of Shizu Mountain. First choice is easy and relax, just sit and the cart will bring you to the peak. The second one is more exiting since you need to climb 400 metres high, with tight stairs and sharp elevation. Wonderful Taoist Temple at the peak awaiting you, a worthwhile effort to do.
Fuqing Southern Shaolin Temple
Located in Dongzhang Township, the temple was one of three historical Southern Shaolin, beside Putian and Quanzhao Temple. The Southern Shaolin Temple of Fuqing was likely established at some point during the Song Dynasty (960-1279 AD). The temple finally acknowledged by the State Cultural Relics Bureau, from July 1995 as historical records.
Huangbo Mountain
Huangbo Mountain still in the area of Fuqing County, this place popular for its Wanfu Temple. As a prestigious Buddhist temple, Wanfu (which mean "ten thousands Buddha figures") is birthplace of Yinyuan Longqi, founder of Japanese Obaku Zen.
