Jinshan Temple
Jinshan Temple is situated on a small island in the Wulong River, near the Hongtang village; western part of Fuzhou. Jinshan Temple (Jinshan Si) is an amazing architecture and the only one "floating" temple in Fuzhou. According historical record, Jinshan Temple was built in 1131 AD during the reign of Song Dynasty. Because of limited geography location, this temple is really an extraordinary building. Instead of regular temple that shaped like Chinese palace's pavilion and huge image of Buddha, Jinshan temple is exquisite and small cluster with magnificent scenery in the surrounding, a special floating temple in the entire Fujian province.
The main building of Jinshan Temple equipped with tower that was made of granite and about 7 meters height. The left building named as Qiaqiazhai, was once the study place of Zheng Jingshu, a popular general in Ming Dynasty era. The right building is known as Jiejieshi, legend said that it was once the residential of Lin Longjiang, a Ming Dynasty patriotic scholar. Jinshan Temple in Fuzhou that floating appearance is similar with Jinshan Temple in Zhenjiang, therefore it known as Mini Jinshan Temple.
Visitors can get a good view when overlook the scenery from Jinshan Temple's balcony. The environment is nice and secluded, surrounding by water in all side, with beauty scenery and banyan tree on the bank of the river.
