Taimu Mountain located 45 kilometers from Fuding County, in northeastern of Fujian province. Stands on the Coast of the East Sea, and facing Yangdang Mountain to the north and Wuyi Mountain to the west. Covering an area of 36 square miles, presents a majestic Taimu Mountain, known for the larger view of mountains and the sea. It consists of five scenic areas: Nine Carps, Sunny Plain and Seashore, Fuyao Islands, Crystal Green Lake, and Mulberry Garden. There are two independent landscapes: Lengcheng ancient castle and Ruiyun Temple. Steep cliffs, atmospheric caves, clear rivers and waterfalls, cascades and waterfalls adorn this mountain.

The origins name of Taimu Mountain derived from goddess name, Taimu goddess. Legend said that once upon a time, a kind hearted girl name Langu lived at the foot of the mountain. She grew a kind of white tea, which was a very effective medicinal herb. With this kind of tea, she cured many patients around the mountain. To show their gratitude to her , local villagers �respectfully called her Goddess Taimu.

Another legend says that every year all the immortals, the top would come here for a meeting, so a good name Taimu Mountain "Fairyland is on the sea". Within the mountain is the erosion of the rocks in many vivid and eerie shapes carved. Take a look "Jiuli Chaotian" ( Nine Carp Facing Sky ), it is actually nine naturally occurring rocks exactly like nine carp. Water, squeezing between the cracks in the rocks of bubbles like foam from the mouth of a carp inflated.

Taimu Mountain were bloomed with temple contruction during the Tang (618-907) and Song (960-1279) dynasties. There were a total of 36 temples, among which were Guoxing, Lingfeng, Ruiyun and Bajiao Temple are the largest in scale. Today tourists can still find the remains of them, indicating the prosperity of this area in the past.

Standing to the top of the mountain, visitors could see the great sea to the eastern enlargement of horizons. What an impressive sight, because of its enchanting beauty, Tianmu Mountain indeed holds a strong appeal to all visitors.

Taimu Mountain Culture and Travel Festival is ceremoniously held every June in Fuding City. This annual Travel Festival include tourism forums, investment invitation, signing of project agreements, tea events, promoting tourism resources, travel agency match-making negotiations, preparation of examination by industrial sources. Taimu Mountain Culture and Travel Festival has become a large-scale culture event that integrates sight-seeing, business negotiation, trade and culture exchanges in Ningde City.
