Longkong Cavern
The Longkong Cavern scenic spot, is the main scenic spot of Longyan National Forest Park, which is located in Yanshi Town, Xinlou District, 48km away from the Longyan City. Record shows that the cavern is a giant water-eroded cave formed 300 million years ago. Longkong Cavern discovered during the Tang Dynasty, covers an area of over 50,000 square meters, consisting of 3 layers; the upper, middle and lower side. Inside of the cave, there are sixteen branch caves, sixty-four scenic spots, and various stalactites of different shapes. Longkong Cavern considered as national class-AAAA tourism area during the year 2003.
Within Longkong Cavern, there are strange and colorful stalactites, stalagmites, columns and other calcareous stone in various forms. Some are like mushrooms, some are like snakes, some are like frogs, and some are like snails. Stone draperies, cave and stone flower pots are here and there. Under the illumination of the light, they look more amazing.
Other exotic view on Longkong Cavern is an underground river. Visitors could use a boat inside the cave, which is adding some fun and would be an unforgettable experience.
