Guanzhai Mountain
Situated in the eastern suburb of Liancheng County in Fujian Province, Guanzhai Mountain is popular for its grandeur, an attractive scenic sight as well as the unique Danxia landscape. The shape of the mountain is like the crown of Xiezhi which is a strange animal in ancient Chinese legend, so the mountain was named "Guanzhai". With an area of 123 square kilometres, Guanzhai Mountain is one of the top ten scenic spots in Fujian, and considered as the Holy Mountain of Hakka.
Guanzhai Mountain scenic spot is a combination of mountains, lakes and rivers, caves and temples. Lingzhi Peak, shaped like a mushroom, is the main peak, measuring 2168 meters altitude. Stand on the flat top peaks, you can see a panoramic view of the villages among the green field in a westerly direction. In the east, high cliffs are majestic, stacked one after the other. Wulao Peak in the southwest, rising near Lingzhi Peak. There is a chasm between the two peaks, the so-called "Xian Yi Tian" (a highlight of the sky).
When climbing on the highest point of the mountain, continue your path until you get to Shimen Lake. Boating on Shimen Lake would be a good experience for traveler. The banks are thick with woods and the lake is clean. The lake is more than 20 meters deep and the International Cliff Diving Competition held here.
Guanzhai Mountain is also blessed with remarkable landscapes of people, including the academies of classical learning during the Song (960-1279), Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties, in the majority with Yangzhi Pavilion, Qiushi Academy Academy Xiuzhu and Dongshan are the famous. There are two temples: Fayun Temple built in the late Song Dynasty, and offers mainly Lingzhi temple sacrifice Kwan-yin, the grace of Buddha.
Because of its beauty, Guanzhai Mountain pulled countless writers from many valuable paintings and calligraphy at these sites. Today, more and more visitors come here for activities such as hiking, sightseeing or just to relax.
